The story

Altarro started with a simple observation: most AI tools are built by people who have never been on a construction site. They don't understand why a super needs to write a daily report at 6pm after a 10-hour day. They don't know what happens when a change order gets missed. They have never dealt with an RFI that's two weeks late and holding up a pour.

I have. I spent over a decade managing construction projects, from residential builds in New Zealand to commercial projects in Canada. I have lived the admin burden, the document chaos, and the feeling of knowing there has to be a better way.

Do I need to be technical to work with Altarro?

Not at all. Most of our clients are business owners, project managers, and superintendents with zero AI experience. We explain everything in construction terms and handle all the technical work.

What AI tools do you use?

Primarily Claude and ChatGPT for language tasks (reports, contracts, communications). We also work with specialized tools for document processing, data extraction, and workflow automation. The right tool depends on the job.

How long does a typical implementation take?

A single workflow automation (like daily reporting) takes 1-2 weeks. A full AI opportunity assessment is 1-2 weeks. Larger implementations with multiple workflows take 4-8 weeks. We scope everything before we start.

Do you work with small contractors?

Yes. If you have 5+ people and you are spending time on admin that could be automated, we can help. Many of our best results come from smaller contractors who feel the admin burden most.

Where are you based?

Based in Canada with clients across North America and New Zealand. All consulting and implementation is done remotely via video call. Construction is global, the problems are the same everywhere.
